It&#8217;s a technology that allows supported sites to display your avatar &#8211; just by leaving your email address. <p>I found this kind of handy &#8211; and it forced me to create an Avatar (finally).</p>
<p>They&#8217;ve been around for 4-5 years but are continuing to grow momentum. Automattic (the makers of <a target="_blank" href="http://wordpress.com/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/wordpress.com');">WordPress</a>&#160;<a target="_blank" href="http://blog.gravatar.com/2007/10/18/automattic-gravatar/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/blog.gravatar.com');">acquired them</a> just over a year ago. As more sites continue to support this technology &#8211; I only see it becoming more useful.</p>
<p>Anyway &#8211; check it out.</p>
